So, last week my friend convinced me to head to the local rec center and take a water aerobics class. Since I finished school and don’t want to become a blob on the couch going through my annual Gilmore Girls binge. However, I was skeptical. I was very concerned that it would be me and her and a lot of old ladies and that we would look like synchronized swimmers. I also had to go through my boxes to find an old swimsuit to wear. I didn’t want to muck up my brand new one.

I’m so glad that I was wrong.

Apparently, I learned that you actually can burn a few calories because water has more resistance than air. This has made my middle looking a bit thinner.

Also… no sweat. You’re just wet. But not the nasty smelling wet. I grew up near a pool so the smell of chlorine doesn’t bother me at all.

Relaxing. Like I wrote before, I grew up with a pool in my backyard (one of the perks of living in California) so to be back in a pool on a regular basis just makes me feel happy.

And my class is not full of old ladies. Although I did have a run in this week with an old man who was snorkeling. That was awkward.

If you’re looking for a new way to work out this summer, check out a local rec center or gym to see if they have a water aerobics class. You just might fall in love.
